Usually, but I love the optimistic fanfare of the TNG intro, and it has a habit of drawing me in.

This is why I love TNG so much. Even though TOS is the original that laid the groundwork for everything, TNG took that “boundless optimism” and ran with it. Watching TNG inspires me to continue to self-improve and encourage it in others.

Also can’t forget gaming companies that have turned many modern games into Skinner-boxes.

There are worse people to resemble!

That sounds like a cool teacher

It’s like a small CD player.

Well that’s better than nothing. It’s so weird, because gifs in the comments seem to work fine, but not as the post.

TNG is a great place to begin. It’s usually what I recommend to anyone who hesitates to start the original. It matures the series and gets into the philosophy of trek more.
You can always go back to TOS later if you really get into the whole universe of Trek. It’s light-hearted and campy, the characters are cultural icons, and it’s fun to see where everything got started.
I respect the attention to detail in making fahrenheit imperial.

That’s absolutely hilarious!
Yeah, he’s just a side character in two episodes.

Was that some unbelievable timing, or did the memes inspire you?

Not sure if you can ping people on here, but @stamets@startrek.website

I still consider them “modern” consoles.

Incredible. We haven’t changed much, have we?

I don’t remember the last time I saw a big ol’ loading bar, honestly. Maybe a small one in steam?
SSDs have made it a rarity for me.
