I feel like I’m watching one of those movies whose major third act twist you see coming from the opening scene but like, your 67 year old mom/grandmother is actually shocked by and gets so angry they want to leave the theater, and you can try to point out all the obvious signs telegraphing who the real killer is but some people just can not accept a story where the bad guy is pretending to be a normal human

Yes. They have complained for decades that trophies shouldn’t go to losers, because it breeds weakness and complacency. But they only apply that to others. It’s classic projection. It goes hand in hand with the devaluation of education and expertise.
It’s not thinking at all, really. It’s feeling. They don’t know the difference. They feel like Trump should, or will, do something. So that makes it true for them.
The “participation trophies are bad” crowd have embraced the idea that all opinions are equally valid rather than judged on merit. So they get to live in a world where they can shape reality on vibes. They have no use for critical thought.
When they say “I think…” what we should hear is “I wish.”

Games are now incredibly easy to run on Linux thanks to Proton. I haven’t tested my entire back catalog but I’ve yet to encounter an actual problem that required a fix since I switched to Linux for good earlier this year.
Anecdotal, but I remember the difficulty of running games as the reason I never fully committed in the past. I’ll never touch Windows again. I see the learning curve as a positive. I’m always excited to dive deeper into Linux.
