Having lived in multiple countries in Europe, including Britain, lets just say that the UK is especially bad in terms of Morals and Ethics.

After living there for almost a decade I concluded British society and politics was a mix of European-style and American-style values, only they had mostly picked the bad ones from both (for example, Cronyism, Dynastic Wealth and the idea of the inherent superiority of those born rich from Europe and “Greed as the greatest quality there is” from America) rather than the good ones.

Mind you, most of the rest of Europe, at least at the level of the Political and Money elites, is Morally and Ethically a shithole. It’s just that the UK is extra, extra special in this.

“Euro” is only short for Europe if you’re American and going on your “Euro trip” to London and Paris, otherwise it’s a currency

I’ve used it sometimes, as have others I know. The most common I’ve seen and use is still “EU” to just mean europe though. In contrast to “the EU”, which is the European Union.

I have never met a European who’d use “EU” or “Euro” as a shortened version of “Europe” as a continent

Happens very frequently in gaming communities because european servers often get abbreviated as EU, so people just keep using it to mean europe in other contexts.

Honestly unsure if the times I’ve used euro is just because someone else did first or because I felt it necessary to distinguish from the EU and didn’t feel like writing “european” (though actually yea, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it used by europeans to mean “Europe”, only “european”).
