It’s very easy to dump Twitter because Bluesky is a good replacement. Instagram is middling, Pixelfed is actually quite nice but not well known. There is no good Facebook replacement that is as centralized for staying in touch with some people at a distance or relatives for some. I’m not saying it’s not terrible, it very much is, but this is literally open season for fascism, and so many average folks have no privacy or social media literacy, Facebook is just where they see pictures of their new nephew in British Columbia or something to so many. This is bad because so many people won’t understand why it’s bad until they see literal Nazis in their algorithm.
