    assumes cat is in /usr/bin… why hardcode only cat of all things?!

        Probably works well too.

        Poorly, KDE and GNOME just dont care, at least Spectacle just works on KDE?

        you can use gnome-screenshot for gnome or the KDE equivalent of it. I won’t work for Window Mangers though
