Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto News@lemmy.world•Judge ends man’s 11-year quest to dig up landfill and recover $765M in bitcoin0·7 months agoWhy, wont you be crying yourself to sleep everynight if you know literal life changing money that is rightfully yours was stuck in a landfill somewhere and you cant do anything about it
Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English1·7 months agobut i definitely can about the education: It’s so bad, it doesn’t even matter. Beatings are still practiced in schools, the textbooks are filled with propaganda of all kind, they are completely unsanitary and unfit for a healthy environment.
So basically like every other south asian school prior to 2015
And for shelter, i’ve seen homeless people completely naked, only covered by a blanket, sitting in the blistering heat, starved to the bone. It’s BS like everything else.
I know most countries try to hide their homeless population(even the goody-two-shoes countries like japan) butThis is the first time i have heard of this, how exactly do you become homeless in a welfare state? Its an easy process in a capitalist society but barring political dissenters (who are likely to be executed outright) what must go wrong that you find yourself on the streets.
Also i dont know if its okay to ask but are you a native or there due to circumstances (like a child of first generation immigrants or your parents are working in the country and you just happened to be there)
Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English1·7 months agoThe perks are mostly applicable if you are a native or a naturalized citizen, of course royalty are treated like royalty(if you are working there with sizeable qualifications in a government owned company you can expect more perks than say a skilless construction labor) and nobody is testing how religious you are, this isnt NK where you have to constantly look over your shoulder and count if you have publicly glorified the supreme leader or not, You can be atheist without declaring yourself as such, woman had less rights, but MBS is trying to soften his kingdoms image and its striving towards equality, internet censorship is easily circumventable.
This is all based on what people(who work and immigrated) whom i personally know have told me, but i dont know about closeted or openly queer people.
Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English1·7 months agoIf you are a native regardless of royalty, dont you still get a lots of benefits and stuff like welfare? This all based on hearsay, the few whom i personally know that immigrated to work there have said so

Also, if I were in Saudi Arabia, I’d be trying to leave Saudi Arabia
Probably not, as long as you are not openly queer, you wont see any reason to leave co sidering the ridiculous amounts of perks you get, its not a 3rd world country or a backwater nation, it is a rich monarchial regime.

Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto World News@lemmy.world•Live updates: Netanyahu vows to retaliate against Iran as regional conflict growsEnglish4·10 months agoI dont get it, do both countries want to assure MADness?
I didn’t deny it; its akin to a first year med student reading about all the subtle little ways that the body hints something is majorly wrong and noticing symptoms exhibit in them, I guess i am just not jaded enough to accept that online anons can just send a swat team to my house if i comment on the local weather online.
Welp repressive countries have more stringent teams of computer forensics experts now. Though compared to our neighbours i wouldn’t call my country repressive(yet)
Feasibility aside, the shitty laws in question attacks content hosting platforms first(safe harbor laws). So no matter how many vpns i hop through, the site would simply limit the visibility of my post in the region and go about their day.
Honestly i believe there is no point in speculating whether there are backdoors installed in popular privacy and encryption apps; for all we know, the powers that are may already have a digital fortress’esque quantum computer decrypting everything from your signal messages to onion sites in a matter of seconds.
I think(my personal headcanon) that there probably was a Manhattan project like top secret research project that has yielded some very fruitful results, now i guess we have to just wait for some whistleblower or a disgruntled employee to feed it a file that blows it up.
I would assume that because it is a popular open source software relied upon by millions that it theoretically shouldn’t?
Then doesn’t that mean that the guy was somehow shortlisted and handpicked to be served that honeypot link?
Nothing, because they dont sell location data, this just seems like a routine warning that pops up when ToS and Privacy policy changes, and since they have clarified their position on this matter, (not to mention the lack of alternative FOSS web engines). We really shouldn’t let this bother us
Of course i might be wrong and it may come out that Mozilla has turned heel(lot of heel turning happening lately)
