That was fascinating to read, thank you!

I’m more of an Emergent Time/Timeline Curve theory guy. The others are cool for sci-fi and stuff but I just can’t conceive of that being how it works.
Closed Loop Theory seems like too cheeky of an explanation. It’s basically a bait and switch. Like: “What if you did thing? But then DIDN’T do thing!” with the answer being “actually you did but just later”. To be fair though isn’t the theory really just saying the universe will correct itself somehow?
Also since you seem knowledgeable on this, something I’ve always wondered about: is their any theory centered around our frame of reference having a past but not a future? As in we’re blazing the trail forward like an ice breaker ship for everyone else to follow? There’s probably a million fundamental laws of the universe that makes that impossible.
Sorry, I’m not very smart, but I do kinda love this stuff.
I’ve read your message and the OPs like 5 times and I still have no idea what is being described… I might be stupid.
His future self showed his past self the lottery numbers through the open window
Got it. We’re good so far.
but he closes the window, so his future self can’t show them to his past self.
This is what I’m stuck on. So he didn’t actually? I get the irony of saying a paradox doesn’t make sense but I’m not even following the thought experiment. His future self opens a window and says “Hey, get some paper and a pen, I’ve got some winning lottery numbers for you!” and his past self goes “Oh boy!” and then immediately CLICK (closes the portal) before ever being shown the numbers.
Could it be restated to say he gets the numbers from his future self but then 30 years later just forgets to do the same thing for his past self?

It’s an article, not a chronological timeline. They expand upon things as you read further down. This is how almost every news article is written. Go back to first grade.
Very interesting, but I don’t feel better after watching that… :(
I want so badly to believe the Trump knowing it part of that, but I just think his head is too far up his own ass. I’m willing to bet he probably thinks he won by a record breaking landslide. I hate that mother fucker so goddamn much.
Yeah. They should all hang out together more often.
It’s less about me randomly capitalizing letters and more about me not remembering whether or not what I’m looking for had capitals or not.
Uh oh, looks like we’ve got an edgelord over here.
Symfonium has been amazing! I don’t know if it’s open source but with navidrome, symfonium, and wireguard I’ve got all my music wherever I go.
That’s really sad and sucks for her friends and family.
I love animals and am against animal cruelty but I’d yeet the hell out of a raccoon if it was attacking my dog. I miss you Maddie girl.
I watched Diggnation a lot too because it felt like TechTV was living on in some little way. I remember thinking Alex Albrecht was pretty cool at the time. I haven’t thought about that in well over a decade. I’d rather not look him up now because I don’t want to know if he’s actually a piece of shit like Tommy Talerico haha.
Movie aside, Spader was a great choice for Ultron and I’m glad to see him again.
I have a similar setup except I use pfSense as my router and pihole for DNS, but I’m sure you can get the same results with your setup. I’m running HAProxy for my reverse proxy and configs for each of my docker containers so any traffic on 443 or 80 gets sent to the container IP on whatever unique port it uses. I then have DNS entries for each URL I want to access the container by, with all of those entries just pointing to HAProxy. Works like a charm.
I have HAProxy running on the pihole itself but there’s no reason you couldn’t just run that in it’s own container. pfSense also let’s you install an HAProxy package to handle it on the router itself. I don’t know if opensense supports packages like that though.
You can even get fancy and do SSL offloading to access everything over HTTPS.
All these Republicans speak at the DNC… but are they out there saying these things to other Republicans? I’d be willing to bet lots of right wing voters won’t hear this message unless someone starts saying it through their regular communication channels. It’s preaching to the converted.
I’d suggest not thinking of them as content they expect everyone to consume. They’re there for people who want to watch them.
This is how I’ve been treating it. At first I was burnt out on all the Marvel shows but when I started thinking about them as comic books and how nobody reads every comic series I changed my view. It’s just telling stories in this world and filling out the universe.
I can’t answer that question but I’ve always wondered why anyone switches to Brave. I installed it a few years ago because I heard it was privacy focused and it immediately hit me with a bunch of shit about crypto and rewards or something. I uninstalled it immediately.
