I would even hate it if it was exactly how it is marketed. Because what it is often marketed for is really stupid and often vague. The fact that it doesn‘t even remotely work like they say just makes me take it a lot less seriously.

Just wait until you learn how many leftists are still on Xitter even after 2024 2020 2019 2018 2017 2016 when it was Trumps main outlet to win the election.
Meta is one big scam is what I‘m taking away from the last decade.
Am I missing something here? The quotes from said lead don‘t mention „the next Windows“ anywhere. He‘s just thinking out loud about what he thinks working on a computer will be like 5 years from now. This is click bait and I wouldn‘t be surprised if they quietly change the title later on after they farmed enough clicks. Awful.
They‘re practically synonymous.
That’s a good question actually. Could it be it’s a “lie vs. untruth” situation where grift is just a nicer word for what’s obviously a huge scam? In that case we should probably use “scammer” a lot more than “grifter”.
The crap they’re promoting it for also showcases the direction they’re developing it for which is an utterly depressing, unsustainable and impractical one. It’s frustrating to see how much money is invested (and ultimately burned) to actively destroy the economy and create problems rather than fixing some.
It will be a cakewalk compared to the thousands of years of climate dystopia.
They started to auto translate comments based on your one(!) language setting, completely destroying nuance in the process. Oh, you’re multilingual? TOO BAD! A lot of the translations don’t even make sense. It’s just word salad a lot of the time and they don’t even give you an option to see the original comment, title or video description! And of course there is no way to give Youtube feedback about it. They’re cooked. Their service is shit and the platform is suffocating from slop in more ways than I ever imagined. Like, I knew it would be bad but you even get bombarded with it when users aren’t even involved.
You might be ahead of the curve. I still consume Youtube a lot but my experience is getting worse each and every month. It’s a consistent downward spiral. It’s just a matter of time until I realize “Oh, I haven’t watched Youtube in weeks!” That’s when I know. The people who make decisions at Youtube clearly do not even use their own website or app and there is no way to give feedback either. When they realize how bad it’s gotten it will be too late to course correct. You can’t win users back after they sobered up from your addictive dopamine machine because they stopped coming and the only traffic on your servers are bots.
I am convinced Youtube and many other platforms are dying right now because instead of protecting their assets, they double down on AI slop that nobody cares about. Of course traffic will keep increasing first but that’s mostly from bot accounts spamming garbage and not actual users consuming content and ads. Server cost will explode while ad revenue will shrink. The corporations behind it have vast resources and will take down the Internet with them but their end is slowly approaching.
And this is exactly the reason why I think the IA will be forced to close down while AI companies that trained their models on it will not only stay but be praised for preserving information in an ironic twist. Because one side does participate in capitalism and the other doesn’t. They will claim AI is transformative enough even when it isn’t because the overly rich invested too much money into the grift.
The US surely looks like it’s mirroring the horrors of the third reich more by the day. Snitching to the Gestapo is how a lot of really bad people got what they wanted.
You’re probably overthinking this. To me it shows that this technology, which is often advertised as a tool to level the playing field and “democratize” industries is viewed as doing the exact opposite. Those who should benefit the most from it feel threatened and it looks like we’re moving closer to techno feudalism by the day as LLMs are squeezed into everything without thought. Fascists tend to love AI, use AI and advance AI. That makes the technology a natural enemy of many minorities.
That’s honestly amazing. Most people I talk to about it are too delusional and overly confident to accept this reality or have surrendered completely, saying that all of their coworkers are already vibe coding and the company would literally dissolve over night if they lose access to LLMs. I feel bad for their customers who have no idea what‘s coming for them should they need support or tighter security.
Yup. Ask it about Elon’s hair transplants and it will give you a link to purchase your next holiday in Turkey. This is what it was always designed for.
Imagine if president Clinton called for Trump to resign from his company back in the day when they briefly met during their visits to Epstein.
We all grew up wanting to be like Obi-Wan. Maybe a little too much.
For decades we thought the arrival of an extraterrestrial species could unite humanity but it was the smart fridges all along! What a time to be alive.
The „companion“ agents children in the 2020s and onward are growing up with and trust more than their parents will start advertising them pharmaceuticals when they‘re grown up :)
