Do children have parents? Because this is their problem. When did personal responsibility stop being a thing?

There has always been shit out there that will fuck up your kids. That’s literally never going to change unless our species goes through some DRASTIC and specific evolutionary pressures. As a parent, it’s your job to protect your kids - not society.

Edit: And if you can’t, for whatever reason, then it’s not society’s fault that you made too many children.

This vibe reminds me of the Reddit I enjoyed back in 2010. No, we can’t always be toxic af everywhere (sometimes it’s a fun little treat), but at the same time, not everything needs to be a goddamn bubble-wrapped “safe space.”

I really don’t want it to be the answer either… But as I get older it’s the only thing that makes sense. And honestly I don’t think it’s limited to party lines (which has me rethinking some of my beliefs - what’s the point of supporting the party that aims for a social safety net if they’re too feckless to ever make it happen).
