The MAGA godfather isn’t serious about becoming president — that’s not the point. Instead, he’s told allies he wants to shape the debate and pressure Republican candidates to embrace an “America First” agenda — including a non-interventionist foreign policy, economic populism and opposition to Big Tech.
It reads to me like fake opposition like we see in most hollowed out democracies.

Do Americans really think they’ll get to vote again? Interesting.

It will probably go on as all totalitarian regimes go: either a lot of blood and then hopefully freedom again, or Russia Reloaded. The pigs in charge for sure won’t leave anything willingly, you have to hang them by the feet (in a Mussolinian way I mean) if you want to break out of it… Any day spent whining and protesting peacefully is one day closer to the end of democracy and one day less they have to really fight. The moment democracy is being shit on is not on the next Election Day, it’s right now.

Yep, I also have a feeling they are singling out weak targets to appear strong, nationally and internationally: blackmail Ukraine, plan luxury resorts in Gaza, kill unarmed people unprovoked, kidnap the head of one of the weakest states on earth, threaten a starving country (Cuba), defund universities and humanitarian organizations.
They can be seen kneeling when Putin offers a shoe to polish and when they have to play the victim of hostile trade.
Sorry for going on a tangent. The frustration is real.

Dear Amis, it looks more and more likely that you will have to kill and get killed to come out of this fucked up situation you put yourselves and the world into. I’m just hoping Central Europe will be - for once - spared from the violence we will unfortunately see in the next decades, as there is where my lazy ass sits…

How do I vote for you? Such compelling arguments!

I think he fears death a lot, which brings him to splatter his name everywhere he gets to. Many chances to piss on it for the next generations!

Not the Onion?

I learned it the hard way when I wanted to trade a platinum memorial coin my grandparents gifted me as investment when I was born: guess what, my brother has the gold one :D

You would think that the pig, fixated as he is with money, would know that gold is much more valuable than platinum? Pointing out the important things here, thank me please…

One thing that’s really clunky is checking the list of followers and followed accounts: depending on which instance is each account, these lists are either incomplete or empty. I don’t know if I do something wrong, but I was trying to get up to speed with Mastodon by discovering interesting accounts to follow- which is not trivial - and found the aforementioned problem. I use a third party app and various web front ends, including the “official” ones (you are forced to when you look for the list of followed/followers)

I like the suggested brands and the guidelines in materials.
The fit guide is maybe a bit oversimplified but obviously correct, particularly on pants and trousers that should fit without belt. I really struggled the last two years to find good fitting chinos. It’s such a “personal match” that cannot really be conveyed in a short guide.
On quality materials, I find the comparison a bit stretched? You don’t need a 1500€ luxury coat to experience nice texture imo, while I wouldn’t write off the BOSS coat as low quality only for the 20% plastic in it…
Two brands that impressed me lately are Marc’o’Polo and Armed Angels, a notch above Uniqlo prices but nice quality :) AA even sells pre-owned items directly on their website.

Yes I get it and agree: they are in a position where they can bully others the way they are doing. It’s not their role but they can because they have leverage. It’s a one bullet thing, though: burning these many bridges will collapse their global presence in the long run. But for now, they act and do as they wish, because old allies still need them direly.

If it would be so easy… the hard reality is that Ukraine needs US support and Europe is not enough (due to economic challenges and internal disagreements). We are at the mercy of the government of a very rich country with a global military infrastructure that was our most important ally, but now betrayed any long standing commitment because they went crazy (+russian venom worked well with the thin witted US population)

I have the feeling you’re not really reading what I’m writing, you want to clash instead of discuss, but I’ll go on: I fully agree that taking him in custody and pressuring him to close unwanted channels is wrong and can deter startups and investments in the social network field in Europe, but Russia is a real threat and they are using all the tools possible to manipulate opinion (in Moldova for example) and create chaos. So pretty understandable that the French tried it. But he puts it like Europe and Russia are on the same level of media and chat control, and they are not. Nonetheless, there is a drift in that direction and we should uphold the free speech rights. All in all, I welcome his message!

The message (which appears as a banner in the Telegram app, too) is filled with overhyped “news” and generalization regarding freedom of speech. Since him being stopped and investigated in France, he’s gone pretty unhinged on freedom of speech, disregarding the complexity of governing bodies and the real effect of information without bounds.
He makes valid points and I’m not defending anyone, but he oversimplifies and misreads some topics.

I recently heard a podcast “interview” of him by Lex Fridman and - while he’s for sure extremely intelligent and talented - it looks like he’s been infected with the “philosophical fit-bro ultra-liberist elitarianism” disease that is all the rage now, unfortunately.

Not really, I always had pretty neutral striking. The good thing, in my view, is that minimal footware forces you to stride correctly. One should not overthink forefoot strike, it can do more bad than good. An actual good strike is putting the whole foot down, with the front impacting slightly before the heel. Full forefoot striking is only possible while sprinting.
