Not sure where you live, but look for hiking date events, bars with single nights, etc. Usually more guys which is great for you. The few I’ve ever gone to were very casual and fun and I’ve made some cool friends.

People don’t like spikes in the price of anything, especially gasoline.
Habahnow@sh.itjust.worksto News@lemmy.world•Gas prices could top $8 in California by 2026 due to refinery closures, report warnsEnglish272·3 months agoYeah as much of an environmentalist that I am, I don’t think prices surging that high in California (and the west coast in general, is my understanding) would be great from an environmental aspect. In the short term there would be some reduction in gas use, but I can imagine Republicans and other pouncing on this politically to roll back some environmental legislation.

Habahnow@sh.itjust.worksto News@lemmy.world•Nearly 900,000 fewer people went to the U.S. in March as cross-border travel plummetsEnglish1·3 months agoLol its the governor of California, he can literally only have some control over what happens within California, with a couple of exceptions. PR is probably the main thing he can do. That being said, his PR message is probably not the best. You’re right though, Canadians not giving money to the US, red or purple states in particular, can only help encourage Trump voters change their minds.

I’m not familiar with the above distros, but I’m pretty certain there’s more people on Ubuntu which helps a lot with troubleshooting and finding solutions online. One option is, when installing any Linux OS, is to create a separate partition for “home/”. that way, you can reinstall any other Linux based OS, and keep most of your files installed.
