HungryJerboa@lemmy.cato No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What does Trump's true medical examination say about his health?3·3 months agoYea this question is impossible to ask for an objective answer without confirmation bias of any sort during this time.
The report that OP is probably referencing is obviously false, or else it wouldn’t be newsworthy (just like everything this man has ever said)
It’s just like Twitter. Now that Trump is back in the white house, tech companies can get away with whatever boosts profits, even if it means being a toxic cesspool of conservative hate speech (it’s ok because the president does it amirite)
Fuck reddit. My ban is a badge of honor for not being a fucking snowflake.

Why does anyone believe this?181·9 months agoVoting third party is fine. Protest voting is acceptable, though this result still fucking sucks. Strategic voting doesn’t have to be the default choice.
Anybody that did NOT vote, thinking it would be any sort of protest, is completely idiotic. Self imposed disenfranchisement only forfeits your own ability to say anything about the results.
The internet archive is based in the US. Until they relocate to a safe alternative, it doesn’t matter how much money they receive.
Not gonna lie, this battle will be uphill against entrenched industries like big oil, crypto, big tobacco, the military industrial complex, and billionaires like Elon Musk.
But you can’t roll over and let these assholes ravage the country. Conscientious objection to dubious orders happened during the Vietnam War, and it can happen again if Trump goes rogue.

HungryJerboa@lemmy.cato No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do you search for honest product recommendations?7·1 year agoI like to use the Wirecutter from the New York Times as a starting point, though I often ignore the products recommended because the links are typically to American online retailers that I’m unlikely to use. I pay more attention to the various aspects used to recommend their choices, then check other reviews from specialized hobbyist forums when available. Finally, if I find the product in a store I will ask to demo it before buying.
YouTube can be helpful if you can cut through the clutter or need to see head to head testing between your short list items. Don’t blindly search there though because the algorithm is shit.

Scammers have gotten smarter over the years and not everybody is technologically savvy. All it takes is a perfect storm of factors for even the most experienced people to fall prey to scams.
Stop victim blaming and focus on education. It’s the only way this gets better.
If it helps, he became a Facebook exec after losing his seat in the British Parliament.
A good example of the revolving door, but at least it wasn’t the other way around…
