Lemmy seems to have this problem. I’ve seen people added as mods who had no say in whether they were made a mod.

The cm0002 account makes a ridiculous amount of posts. Either it’s a bot or someone with way too much time. It’s not organic sharing that some people—myself included—would want social media to be.

And they keep making the same accounts on different instances. I’ve blocked close to a dozen of this account already.
