Fair point. I had an employer who would write people up for being 1 minute late at one point. I was only considering the job abandonment aspect, not the other parts.

US politicians can disappear from their jobs for 6 months without losing them. Meanwhile, you or I disappear for 3 days and it’s job abandonment.
I’d say the US government was a funny joke if it wasn’t at our expense.
Sorry, that’s classified as a supplement, so it’s going nowhere assuming you mean the packets containing obscene amounts of vitamin c.
my former manager who wanted projects estimated in minutes.
That wasn’t a manager, that was a demon.
It’s just the worst one.
What if you bought ads for both campaigns and had them link to Hexbear’s PPB through a tiny URL? Now that would be interesting news!
Agreed.
For instance, G Suite is now so thoroughly integrated into school workflows that, even if they collect nothing from students while under 13 (ha!), they are setting kids up to harvest their data in the future by forcing them to learn how to perform basic tasks only on their apps. It’s like advertising fruity cigarettes or vapes, but for data.
It’s not just that all of these companies harvest everyone’s data, but so many of them are specifically targeting kids from as young of an age as they can.
So the inflation experienced during orange man’s term would have had to start during obamna’s term?
Orange man’s been gone almost four years. Why are the prices still up? I thought they were orange man’s fault?
“Omg, this homeless problem is out of control! What are we going to do about the homeless question?”
“Make it illegal to be homeless. Problem solved.”
Fucking liberals.
GIs and veterans refuse to be complicit in genocide.
A bit late for that, but a good change in direction. Next lets end the imperialistic wars they are participating in as well.
Totally agree with that last statement as someone working in that industry. Would be nice to not only see public labs gain stable funding, but to see publicly-owned infrastructure for bringing treatments from the lab scale to full production too. For medications at least, this would mean we could get rid of the private sector (or at least provide an alternative option) that didn’t inflate the costs of treatments and constantly seek IP that kills treatments that are potentially more effective and/or incredibly cheap to produce and provide to those in need.
The private sector provides a necessary service currently, but only because they have ensured that they have a monopoly. Ultimately, they serve as leeches holding the advancement of medical science back.
TOP NEWS of 2024:
I have successfully improved my relationship with my rescue cat who used to become very aggressive when overstimulated. When she wanted me to stop petting her shortly after I adopted her, she would bite or scratch, drawing blood almost daily.
Two years later and she begins licks when she wants someone to stop touching her and they miss her telling them via her body language.

WEATHER REPORT:
It’s been raining frequently, but it smells good and I enjoy listening to it through my bedroom window.

A surprise coming from business insider.
Unfortunate for them that you can’t solve the contradictions of capitalism by trying to passively ride them out.

I think we have more pressing issues in certain airplanes at the moment, but that’s a good point.
In my experience, there’s always a way around parental controls on these devices and if there isn’t, there’s always a way that your child will subvert them in other ways.
Half the time it’s a well-intentioned and ignorant adult providing them the means.
