I feel like you are both making the same point but it sounds argumentative for some reason

I’m not in US or Mexico, and it shows as “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”. The info I saw was that it shows as GoA in the US, GoM in Mexico, and both everywhere else. At least 2 of those are true, I’m guessing all 3 are
MrBobDobalina@lemmy.nzto News@lemmy.world•Trump taunted over ‘most powerless image of a president’ ever112·5 months agoAnother article might have included a photo or photos, but the ‘image’ being referred to is the image presented by a person or situation. Which is described. It’s not about one particular photo
MrBobDobalina@lemmy.nzto News@lemmy.world•Trump taunted over ‘most powerless image of a president’ ever22·5 months agoIt’s a joke, implying that ‘child’s presence’ referred to his own presence, or Trump’s.

MrBobDobalina@lemmy.nzto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•The fact that this is a real image is infuriatingEnglish41·6 months agoNo one (except for a very few nut jobs) is blaming Jews for the genocide that is happening, they’re blaming the state of Israel. The current government and individual people making the decisions. Disagreeing with apartheid Israel does not equal ‘blaming jews’.
Also, look into Christian Zionism. There are a lot of literal nazis and other antisemites who are thrilled about backing Israel right now, because they think that this is all part of a prophecy that brings about the end times or something… And this prophecy does not end well for Jews. So no, supporting Israel does not necessarily mean someone isn’t antisemetic right now either.
MrBobDobalina@lemmy.nzto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•The fact that this is a real image is infuriatingEnglish3·6 months agoNope. He does the salute twice before saying the ‘my heart goes out to you’ plausible deniability attempt. Which makes it much less likely to be just a simple gesture, and also makes it very very clear that the crown is cheering the salute, not the line which comes later.

MrBobDobalina@lemmy.nzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do you voice chat without bothering roommates?91·7 months agoSome people are overly conscientious of people around them, and ask questions like these even though they are already being completely reasonable. It’s a huge jump to assume they must be being an asshole, yelling into their mic etc. Try asking next time: “are you concerned about it because you tend to get excited and loud while chatting? Or is it more just a normal phone-call conversation volume?”

Pretending to not understand something you then say that you did understand is not sarcasm. It’s more like feigned ignorance. And while I guess that can be used to point out that something is unclear, in this case the thing was clear, so the ‘joke’ didn’t really land
