MrQuallzin@lemmy.worldto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•If GLP-1 Drugs Are Good For Everything, Should We All Be on Them?2·9 days agoEvery single medication has side effects, good and bad. Every medication comes with a product label that goes into the specifics how how the medication works, how it was trialed, how to use it, what to expect, etc. (You can always ask a pharmacist for this if it’s not already provided).
The question isn’t “do these meds have bad effects”, the question is “do the pros of this therapy outweigh the potential side effects?”
NSAIDs like ibuprofen and naproxen are used for pain relief, but they’re hard on our bodies and can destroy your liver with chronic use. Yet we can freely buy them as OTC meds.

More weight means more gas use. And I think we can all get behind reducing gas use in general where possible.

You had a very bad and valid experience with WF, as many people have, but that doesn’t discredit every single company.
The LDS (Mormons) actually do repeat it, in a sense. Their weekly sacrament is a renewal of their baptismal blessings
MrQuallzin@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube just quietly blocked Adblock Plus — the internet hasn't noticed yet, but I've found a workaroundEnglish22·18 days agoFor my wife and I, whose main background noise/entertainment is Let’s Play style videos on YouTube (Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, RTGame and such), paying for premium just makes sense. Like you said, we can and should criticize them for how they handle things, but everyone making a fuss about premium existing just makes no sense.

A web browser is not a computer. A phone is not a desktop computer. Google (and most other large companies) keep many features restricted to their full websites, not mobile apps and mobile versions of their sites. For those who are used to/grew up with smartphones, tablets, and chromebooks, these tactics help to make it harder to leave their ecosystems as they aren’t used to navigating desktop environments.
(Chromebooks do give desktop versions of websites by default, but they have helped reduce technological literacy in exchange for convenience)
They said to try again on a computer. All your screen shots are from a phone. You might get the same result, but we won’t know until you attempt it.
It doesn’t sound like they’re making more work for you. It sounds like you’re making more work for yourself, and it sounds exhausting.

I’ve been a big Elegoo fan for a while now. Love my Centauri Carbon! But even Elegoo is starting to go the enshitefication route, with the new printers no longer being open source.
