Anyone who was thinking Trump wasn’t just going to shred or redact anything that implicated him was dreaming.
It’s a little weird that they’d delay…so much. I don’t understand and can’t sufficiently explain why they’re doing it. My best guess is they want to start a war before they release some of the stuff that makes him look bad by proxy. I guess maybe some of the people he’s throwing under the bus need a heads up?

Do you think it matters what type of weapon a potential mass murderer has access to?
Do you think more or less people would have died if the shooters in this attack had high capacity high ROF weapons available in the US, for example?

I’d go further: the goal of legislation like this isn’t to reduce gun crime at all, or deal with the intent to murder…that’s dealt with in different legislation.
The goal here is to reduce harm…it makes a huge difference what weapon a criminal has access to when they’re trying to kill people. Gun nuts can’t get their heads around or cope with the difference between a potential mass murderer having a knife and a fully automatic weapon. They’ll change the subject.

The (realistic) goal isn’t to bring people back (why even say that?) or reduce crime to zero…it’s to reduce potential harm.
You don’t even need to look past this attack to see that gun control saved lives: had the shooters been armed with high-capacity high-volume weapons available in the USA, for example, they could have killed scores more people. If, in the next attack, shooters have access to less lethal weapons…less people will die.

Marx wasn’t talking about cheap fast-firing weapons being used against a state armed with drones and helicopters, etc.
If you want to project Marx forward, “arms” should be redefined as something meaningful like speech and political power…not the literal ability to coerce your masters with rifles. If 10,000 Americans rose up in arms against the government, 10,000 Americans would be quickly put down with superior arms.
I haven’t dug deep into this dude, but I was told by somebody I trust that he’s not an entrepreneur…but rather was a kid with access to wealth who was “smart” enough to buy up a bunch of companies.
His title of “entrepreneur” is myth making…not unlike Elon Musk, and a lot like Kevin O’Leary: He didn’t invent any technology or concepts…his strength was exploiting a generation who didn’t understand technology. Once his myth was in motion, inertia did the rest. Simply being young when he started did all the heavy lifting…and I guess Trump also got romanced.
It really bothers me that being selfish and getting lucky - and most of all having money - is what we call an entrepreneur. The word used to be reserved for people who actually put sweat equity into a novel concept.
She also wastes money on Apple products she can barely understand. She has so many unnecessary subscriptions to bullshit because she’s got a good pension and she thinks she needs to. It sucks to watch.

My mother…boomers and a lot of Gen X…are completely addicted to Facebook. They find it essential because of all its lame social organizing groups and marketplace…so they end up also getting all their information from it…information mixed with these scams.
Just fucking regulate them. If somebody gets scammed…make Facebook pay for part of the restitution.
This is what happens when companies “self regulate”. The strategy is basically “we’ll do absolutely nothing to hurt revenue…but we’ll absolutely pretend we’re doing something”.
The only way Facebook is going to hire actual people to look at random ads before they’re posted…which is the only thing that will work…is if they pay a steep enough penalty when people get scammed.

I unfortunately know a lot of about this case and the industry because I work in poverty outreach. The industry/this case is no different/not separate from stripping, modelling etc…it’s all massive grey area - some would call it a black hole.
What the GDP umbrella company was doing isn’t much different to what any amateur porn studio/modelling agency does: They’re these sex-trafficking pipelines that lure women in with promises of modelling contracts, commercials etc. Theres no porn company that posts an ad saying “porn actors wanted” (or very few). There’s almost always a continuum of interconnected agencies that start women off soft with calendar/bikini shoots but ultimately try to funnel women to hardcore porn…but will make money off them at the earlier stages…or just “leave” them in the earlier stages if they resist/make enough money. The “problem” with GDP was the male actors were basically rapists…didn’t take no for an answer if they wanted somebody in their pipeline to do hardcore. They would functionally imprison them by bringing them from far away and delaying flights and shuffling them between hotels. They were also using existing talent to coerce prospective talent…like you’d see in a sex work “stable”. Along the way they would make them more complaint with drugs and alcohol…implicitly telling them it would be over once they shot their scene. The majority of women could plausibly be said to have consented at some point…but not all of them.
Most agencies stop short of outright rape…but all agencies assault or coerce their talent to go deeper into the pipeline in one way or another. The woman who’s the subject in this case likely only went to prison because of things she didn’t know her male actors/owners were doing (although I don’t know the exact details, it’s likely they kept clerical people insulted from the acts).

I have mixed feelings on this case getting so much attention. Yeah…it’s good that these people finally got caught and brought to justice…and that’s going to cause the rest of the industry to get safer.
But, to an extent, much of the industry is still the Wild West. It’s should have blown the lid off the industry…because every single amateur porn “studio” lies to their models and coerces them into sex. So much more beyond what GDP was charged with is illegal.
It’s like…I almost feel sorry for this woman, granted I don’t know the full details of her involvement. Every single porn studio lies to actors and coerces them into sex or acts they don’t want…if that was the limit of her involvement, then a lot more people from every studio need to go to prison. Did she just go to prison because the male “talent”/producers at her particular company were monsters?
Its not a complicated case, but I understand your confusion.
I think you’re not understanding that many if not most of the actors were ultimately willing. What was going on was the the producers were basically monsters who dehumanized their talent. Say, 5 out of 6 women would just say “fine, give me the money because I’m desperate”…but some of them would try to say no and be coerced/literally forced into sex on camera. Because the producers had dehumanized them…they didn’t see what they were doing was wrong.
As long as we get the “jub jub” Ewock song playing over it, and not that world music slop from the rereleases.
Celery is used because it’s cheap…and it’s bitter balancing onions and other cheap stock items that tend to be sweet. A stock shouldn’t be sweet or bitter because it’s something you “work up”.
“Everybody” doesn’t use it tho. Some stocks are “garbage can” stocks, using whatever unservable scraps that come from food preparation…others are from ingredients purchased to make the stock like a Mirpoix (the most common stock base that uses celery).
There are lots of people like you that say celery ruins stock…there are many others that say bell peppers ruin stock…but then there are core stocks made from bell peppers.

Both things need to happen: the underlying problem can be addressed, which is and has been being done with varying degrees of success - and they can also pick the low hanging fruit and make less deadly weapons available to potential criminals.
