Because those shitty patterns make the platform valuable. It’s about creating investor value, end user be damned.

PresidentCamacho@lemm.eeto ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Do they just think about the same fuckin' thing forever?English153·2 months agoMy instinct would be to think that they do that too, but at a much slower speed, and are less aware of how they got there. So when you explain a train of thought clearly the speed which u topic switched and the number of times it happened feels overwhelming to them. We also tend to intellectualize a lot of stuff and others do not, so they have probably never internally studied how their own thoughts connect before, so it would seem forieng when explained.
But I’m speaking from instinct here, no evidence.
But what about me and my overly simplistic world views where there is no room for nuance? Have you thought about that?
PresidentCamacho@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft CEO says up to 30% of the company's code was written by AI | TechCrunchEnglish31·3 months agoI disagree. It feels like your making this assumption from the point of view that people using AI to develop turn their whole brain off and let AI take the wheel. Any dev I know using AI uses it as a time saving measure, i.e. advanced autocomplete, or to assist with troubleshooting as a form of advanced search engine. Also you would have no need to give the AI the actual key itself, at most you would give it the title of the variable the key is saved as.
I came to this conclusion around highschool age, my take on the wording of this sentiment was usually “An omnipotent being fucked a women who then gave birth to his son/self, so that the child/clone could die to learn something he didnt before about the humanity he created”
also “I gave you free will, so you better use it to believe this story that you would never believe otherwise”
and finally “If i live life as a good person and get sent to hell because i didnt believe a fake sounding story then god is a pathetic narcissist and i want nothing to do with him anyways”
Im just thankful my parents would always ask “well what do you think?” whenever i asked them about religion. I always try to keep that in mind as a form of sympathy for people who were manipulated in childhood. “Faith” has better PR than “Ignorance”.

If I want to leave Netflix it’s as easy as switching subscriptions. If I want to leave Apple I need months of migration and multiple product replacements.
Or at least that’s what it looks like to someone who has avoided Apple their whole life, it was apparent to me as a teen that the walled garden was a trap. The iPhone and iPhone 3g where the only and last peices of apple hardware I’ve ever owned.
Just discussing potential.
Pretty narrow vision. Microsoft can suggest hardware for you and charge the seller for the advert.

PresidentCamacho@lemm.eeto Leopards Ate My Face@lemmy.world•Tariff Isn't Tax on Other Countries?🤪English5·4 months agoSchools should really put much more focus on explaining what science is and what it does
Hard agree. The US is currently speed running to third world status and its entirely because of education, and i assume its happening elsewhere based on the rise of conmen in leadership. Anyone who thinks for themself who has ever had a conversation with anyone MAGA on why they believe what they believe, will know that it was just because they were told to believe it. They do not have any sort of internal reasoning, they look to someone that fits their world view of what a leader looks like and then they believe every word that they say. It is the same way most people relate to religion, do not think about it, just have faith.
So when you mix together a wildly de-funded and heavily politicized education system that turns out followers who outsource reasoning to authority figures, with modern American solipsistic culture that allows the worst human beings alive to be seen as role models, then it was always just a matter of time before conmen took the reigns of the country. Anyone who is ever trying to argue their point with reasoning and facts will appear on the defense to any conman that is just riffing innacuracies, and the uneducated masses will see the conman as in control, which will then make them trust that person, it doesn’t go any deeper than that.
Humans are fucking stupid.

No no no. I see where you went wrong, you were thinking about Jesus from the bible, people dont really believe in him anymore. The Jesus followed today is Supply-Side Jesus, I know it gets confusing since they are both named Jesus.
