16·3 days agoDo what you enjoy. Yes people will judge. You would be hard pressed to find a whimsical passtime that people do not judge. What matters is if you are living your life how you want to.
I also guarantee you will make somebody’s day.
As long as you can communicate appropriately for the situation (I.E. an emergency, to perform your job adequately, or for serious discussions) I don’t think it matters in the long run what others think.
16·4 days agoNgl, trump waffling around with tarriffs is already causing major damage to the economy. Companies need to project costs for budgeting to keep their business operational. Him constantly putting out changing information is causing layoffs and all sorts of chaos.
All that to say, they should really nut up sooner than later.

Programming is hard. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and LLMs go from Hitler bad, to Hitler good. Everyone should be more accommodating toward Mr.Musk’s autism.
In other news, Mamdani should be deported for saying Israel has the right to exist as a state with EQUAL rights. As this is a blatant example of anti-semitism.

3·10 days agoI would love to believe that AI is here, but the current technology we are using is just not there yet. Until I see irrefutable evidence that LLMs are sentient, I am going to remain skeptical.
Believing that what we currently have is sentient and possibly new life is falling for the marketing ploys of the corpos trying to make massive amounts of money off investors.
AI systems are fundamentally limited by their training data. They cannot truly create logic that goes beyond what they’ve been exposed to during training. While they can combine existing patterns in new ways, giving the appearance of creativity, they cannot make the kind of intuitive leaps that characterize human innovation.
Maybe not the best source, but there is a lot of uninformed/uneducated people in America.

I am talking about the markets that rely on the suffering of people to make massive amounts of money. Monied interests have proven time and time again what our government stands for.

152·17 days agoIf somebody leaves a cult and is taking steps to change their life, I believe they should be supported.
Yes consequences are a thing, but they are still a human being. The left needs all the support it can get. The more welcoming we are to people who realize their mistakes, the easier it will be to work towards a better future.
If they are not willing to change and learn after experiencing consequences, that is another matter.
