Szyler@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that fracking is not safe. Residents living near fracking sites are significantly more likely to get cancer2·20 days agoMany ways away from fossil fuel, both solar and nuclear would have been great options, but even with early solar, we would have had to use coal or gass for base load without nuclear was what u was trying to say.
How we let them was just by not standing up and not holding them accountable. That is still the issue today. They knew for DECADES and still is profiting with government subsidies everywhere. We need to push politicians away from lobbying and give them the support they need to be firm with the 1%.
Szyler@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that fracking is not safe. Residents living near fracking sites are significantly more likely to get cancer31·20 days agoIt is if you consider the cost of the redundancy required for renewable energy to serve as base load once you cut oil, gass and coal out of the supply.
Nuclear can cover this base load until we develop better storage systems for large scale use.
If we had just built nuclear with the modern architecture developed in the 70’s onwards we’d be able to move away from fossile fuel FAAR more easily today, without any mjor disasters from the reactor technology from the 50’s.

Until it starts to get moldy and the time pressure of “enjoying the gift” sets in, it will not move an inch.
If I have two things to write down, I write them–… I write down the one thing I was thinking of.

I do this as well. Sometimes I challenge myself of figuring how the fuck I ended up in the dread by tying to go backwards om the train of thoughts. Sometimes I’ve managed to take each step back and figure out what started it all, a whole 17 steps back.
It’s exactly like this for me as well. The barrier to start tasks is lower, and the anxiety about all the “should do” tasks is not there, as well as the lack of anxiety when finishing something and thinking “but I have way more to do”.
So combined the mental load is way less, so I have energy to do more.
Tl;dr I have energy to do more, the ability to do more, and the rewards of doing more.
