Ah, yeah, this one is a very silly, chaotic, and fast paced shooter, so maybe not great coming from Arma :D
The Finals does have private game servers, but not dedicated servers. It’s definitely lame that they don’t include them.

It’s honestly a great game. Fantastic movement, gunplay, and level destruction paired with unique game modes. I haven’t enjoyed a shooter this much in literal decades.
It’s free to play, which does come with it’s own hurdles. If there are enough cheaters, it really does make the game miserable to play. And then people who are just very good start getting constantly accused of hacking…
That said, you can’t stop all cheating, and the kernal based approach is always overkill. We’ll see what they do.
Yeah and honestly, it’s the most frustrating part of ADHD
Are there drugs for executive function? Asking for a friend.
Giving feedback is the first step to contributing.
I’ve lost interest in seeing Marvel movies in theaters. Or really at all. I’ve heard this one was good, but all that made me think was “oh maybe we’ll watch that next year at some point.”
if I fuck it up, it doesn’t spill over into other tasks
Somebody has never accidentally spilled the entire litter box onto the floor.
Depression is definitely a factor for many people. But the death of 3rd spaces is fairly well documented. The problem is that many people don’t know how to make friends. Friends very rarely happen instantly, they usually are a result of repeated and consistent interactions. Adults rarely seek out situations that would give them those types of interactions outside of work and school.
Yeah I’m trying to temper my expectations, but given that Taskmaster is my favorite show and Zooks is one of my favorite comedian, I’m pretty hyped. I think he’s a great casting choice and generally always amps up the energy in a really fun way.
Eh, still about 50-50 with these people. I’ve sent an email with 4 nicely formatted and numbered questions and had them respond only to question 3. Like… You read some of it, decided to answer one, and then give up with no other acknowledgement? Shit is wild.
Calls and easily sharing my screen are 90% of my use cases for Discord. The entire appeal of it initially was that it was a more functional Ventrilo with both text and voice channels. Hopefully something FOSS gets further developed by the time Discord completely shits the bed.
I think it’s supposed to be tongue in cheek.
I think the way we consume news has gotten incredibly unhealthy. The rush to know things as fast as possible has lowered the quality of news, and mixing the news into your entertainment feed of the entire day might be weird for our brain.
I feel you though. There’s shitty things happening in the world and it doesn’t seem like it’s helpful to anyone for me to know about every little instance. I wish I could just get detailed stories for local news, and just get general stats for national stuff.

I’m pushing back on this viewpoint wherever I’m seeing it. Humans are certainly flawed in a lot of ways, especially in how easy it can be to mislead us, but this cynical worldview that most people are actively wanting others to hurt is not based in reality. Honestly it sounds like me when I was in the depths of depression.
I think we have a major problem with how we share and consume news. Stories are shared as screen-capped headlines that emphasize the Bad thing that happened, and even if you find the original article, it’s stuffed with ads that make you not want to bother. Random one-off bad/stupid things that one person did somewhere far away are reported as world news without statistics and context.
The result? Increasing cynicism. The good, uplifting stories rarely come through. People begin to base their worldview and how they interact with other people on this “fact” that most people suck. This culminates in them becoming the thing that they think everyone is - they go through life scared of or angry at other people by default.
It isn’t an inevitability. Maybe I’m wrong, but believing in people is a much better existence, even when they occasionally let me down.
John Stewart communicates a sincerity that the rest of the correspondents and hosts haven’t really managed. They mix in a bit too much smugness or something. I find them all fine in small doses, but only John Oliver has really matched those moments where John Stewart looks at the camera and seems to be pleading with ALL of the American people. He had a way of criticizing without being elitist.
It’s the same story with almost all of their stuff. They let their creators be really weird in the opening episodes and then it eventually boils down to the Marvel Formula halfway through and becomes a boring mess.
School isn’t just learning the stuff in the classes. It’s the shared experience too. It’s the teachers holding you accountable for learning.
“Going to school” is a very different thing than just trying to learn on your own. Self motivation and time are a huge barrier for a lot of people. I think the OP was imagining being able to go to school every day and just take classes for free with other people also interested.
It’s definitely hard to know when being overly enthusiastic ends and when love bombing begins. I agree that it isn’t always necessarily malicious but, as with most everything, clear open communication is the solution.
Somebody convince me I’m wrong.
There is no reason to display “100%” in your UI for more than a single second. Either show 99% and then finish, or show 100% only when you are ACTUALLY done and only show it for a little.
If you’re still doing ANYTHING AT ALL don’t say you’re 100% complete. How is it still like this
I can’t seem to visit that site without it completely redirecting my browser to a full screen ad saying I had been “wiretapped”, so I googled it, and I cannot find any confirmation of that happening. Every article says Victoria Beckham is still not fully confirmed and nothing substantial has been announced.
