  • Don’t mix up overeating with the human’s natural down phase during the mid day though. It’s normal for humans to feel tired after lunch, because humans took breaks during the day (kind of like Siesta in Spain).

Industrialization introduced the work from 9 to 5. In reality humans had a biphasic sleep schedule before that. We still experience some after-effects genetically from this in our circadian rythm. There’s actually several words in languages across Europe for this, i. e. in German “Mittagstief” (midday low).

Humans never worked as much for other people as they did this day and age, of course not counting the early days of industralization.

  • A friend of mine is a higher up and checks the numbers of plants and their productions. They found out that for certain plants numbers were not verifiable. They saw this coming. There is mismanagement in plants here, and plants that don’t really make anything, but try to fake their numbers. But we’re talking about plants that technically have good potential either, but have the wrong focus, at least that’s what my friend believes. I’m not surprised this happened.

I’m keeping this message intentionally vague to protect my friend.

  • What’s the issue with snaps? I’m still on Ubuntu ans abkut to switch to Debian, but for me its pretty chill atm because I don’t have to worry about updates or security. I know about the terminal aliases, which could be disclosed better, but it’s not that big of a deal to me. I thought it’s pretty cool to have a “store” that’s curated so I don’t have to worry about security, since I use Linux casually.

  • The effects are definitely felt in Germany as well. It started (or can so far be traceable in the news) with Tesla. Not sure about any other sentiment, but I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised. This is the first time there’s news about things other than Tesla.

But yeah, I personally started going more for European products and that is also the policies pushed by some European countries atm. It might be a coincidence, but I switched away from MAMMA where I could (with Win10 support running out, I went over to Linux, I. e.; or I switched my default browser away from chrome and search engine away from google).

  • I’m having a hard time understanding the criticism on them working with companies, or developing tech towards it, though. I thought it would be a good thing if a Linux company introduced systems for general use, same with Edubuntu. Having Ubuntu on school PCs is definitely better than Windows for example.

    Edit: The rest makes sense!

  • I am not dismissing the connection, I just wonder what it’s based upon. Sure, you could assume as such, but starting to talk about the bible will be a conversation that turns in on itself. The largest church i. e., the Catholic church, emphasizes its own existence before the Bible itself, highlighting the church over the scripture in religious matters. And there definitely are several denominations that fully integrate homosexuality (see some Old Catholic churches for example), albeit still in minority but growing. Not that I’m defending anything else about it. I’m not a Christian. But to fully illustrate my point it doesn’t take a long google search to find out that homosexuality can also be blamed as an European import. However, Europeans historically definitely did have a more binary world-view on gender, and there is evidence it impacted colonized countries (British more so than others).

However, does any of this really matter? I am saying that I believe simply blaming today’s homophobia on historical exploitation, which definitely had an socio-economic impact, is not gonna fix what is definitely a problem nowadays. Actually, blaming European colonization for crimes committed by people in Nigeria is taking away from their own responsiblity and agency to improve the issue. Whether religious or not, both LGTBQ+ right nor religious freedom should infringe on one another.

But there are many crimes colonizing countries should pay for until this day. Hope you don’t feel like I’m trying to argue against you, I just wanna have a interesting conversation!
