Best guess would probably be all of them.

It did initially appear out of nowhere when they patched it in, but I could immediately turn it off with the same prompt that the other guy also got.
If it’s unavoidable it seems to be an US only thing atm.

I’m doubtful they will ever get back the prestige they once held after all is said and done. I hope I’m wrong but… yeah.
Also while I’m on the topic - I have my doubts about the chances of a long term program successful enough to compete in Europe and that only really leaves one major player left on the field: China. Everyone else will presumably be playing catch-up in the foreseeable future unless something drastic happens.
…and with the probable war we are about to have on our hands it’s even worse. So much for science.

Now don’t get me wrong, W11 is utter shite, and I had to essentially build a new computer from scratch to even get it running properly, but I still haven’t seen any ads or any other bullshit like that.
This is exactly why my old computer is merrily running Mint, and it likes it.
Edit: If it wasn’t for the fact that I happen to primarily use Cinema 4D for work I wouldn’t even have bothered, probably. Relearning 20+ years of software flow for the other options seemed silly at the time, but I would’ve reconsidered had I known what a mess W11 would become for me and in general.

Not only because of the drugs either, but in general. The damage he’s done to your country is measured in lives lost, not money, in my opinion. The money part is just the tip of the iceberg in his case.
andz@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Elon Musk allegedly took large amounts of drugs including ketamine while advising Trump – report5·2 months agoTo be fair we all love our drugs. Unless you like to be sober, that’s cool too.
Edit: Musk is a piece of shit either way, no excuses there.

Fair enough, I see your point.
Depends on the mom tho, right?

Europe for its fair share as well. It also plays into their “oh look at the degenerate west” playbook perfectly.
They’re responsible for so much damage that I have no idea how it’ll end. Not even children with tech savvy parents are immune, as I can attest to myself.
It’s important as fuck to have discussions about bad content to children ass soon as they get any kind of screen available to them, and it should never ever be a babysitter unless it’s under controlled circumstances.
It’s also a good idea to start teaching your children how any tech they use works and what happens under the hood if they’re interested. They’re certainly less likely to get influenced by any bad actors if they know what’s what.
andz@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•How ordinary Poles are preparing for a Russian invasion10·3 months agoThey’re building bases close to the Finnish border. I almost feel sorry for them, but not really.
Joking aside though, if a new front opens it’s highly likely it’ll be here. Our politicians are already ensuring we have a plan, and …we’ll, we do.
If they want to fight us in the forests again I don’t think it’ll end like Putin thinks it will, no matter if it’s summer or winter.
Their drones won’t be as effective, and while they may well have a larger army now than when they started that’d change pretty quickly I believe.

I don’t even own a car or a TV, nor do I live in the US for that matter.
Get your head out of your ass and realise there’s more to life than fucking money. I was born poor and will die poor, but I don’t give a shit because I at least know I helped some people along the way.
Jfc, the bubble some live in. You should be ashamed of yourself, but I guess you’re not even capable of that, are ya?

It’s either that or you’ve been born wealthy enough to never have to think about the money you spend.

I have the feeling that the news channels in the US perhaps leave out some of what is happening in the Baltic sea, for example.
Or the fact that we’ve been preparing to go fuck them up for the past few years. The rest of Europe is starting to wake up as well. Nobody wants to be next.

Holodomor, and the details are not quite the same. The end result will be though, if anyone survives at all this time around.
