Hate that, work until you’re 70 and too old to enjoy retirement. Or work until you’re so sick you can’t and then you don’t get to enjoy retirement.
A system designed to ensure you work until your labor has no value. Squeezing for everything you’re worth

I’m glad you made this post. Reddit banned me after some pro-luigi posting after 13 years on the platform.
I checked and all my comments are still there so I should start cleaning them up. No reason they should be able to make money from me anymore

Not ideal and still lacks a lot of necessary reform, but I’m hoping this is plausible

Still obscenely rich, but she has nothing to do with the company

arrow74@lemm.eeto News@lemmy.world•Nearly half of U.S. adults disapprove of Trump's handling of protests: PollEnglish20·1 month agoPer the article:
47% of U.S. adults disapprove of of deploying the Marines to LA, with 34% approval.
45% disapprove the National Guard deployment, while 38% said they approve.
That leaves 19% and 17% that are undecided. The question for those would be are they uninterested or uninformed?

But also that is demonstrably false anyway. Our judiciary is under heavy threat, but still functioning
arrow74@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•An LAPD helicopter claimed to have ID'ed protesters from above and threatened to "come to your house"English21·1 month agoI doubt they will find anything of use. The most powerful thing I can do is slow them down. It’s the best use of my privilege
arrow74@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•An LAPD helicopter claimed to have ID'ed protesters from above and threatened to "come to your house"English4·1 month agoI bring my phone. I likely won’t be breaking any laws, and I can afford a lawyer. So yeah arrest me and waste the system’s time. Just another data point they have to sort.
And if it gets to the point where none of that matters we were cooked anyway

A new lawsuit argues that’s unconstitutional.English1·1 month agoThey do not decide who is allowed to run for office though and independents can and do win races.
And frankly the last thing I want to do is change the system to create more private organizations like political parties.
arrow74@lemm.eeto News@lemmy.world•In Louisiana, Some Court Officials Get Paid to Evict - Justices of the peace can line their pockets by granting evictions. A new lawsuit argues that’s unconstitutional.English1·1 month agoI hear where you are coming from, but the law descends from the will of the people or at least it should.
Allowing a body independent from government oversight decide who is allowed to be a lawyer and therefore a judge is a terrible idea though. Currently each state has an independent BAR association that decides who can and cannot practice law within the state. Handing over full judiciary control to a private organization like that is a terrible idea.
arrow74@lemm.eeto News@lemmy.world•In Louisiana, Some Court Officials Get Paid to Evict - Justices of the peace can line their pockets by granting evictions. A new lawsuit argues that’s unconstitutional.English2·1 month agoThat’s creating a body of government not controlled by the people at all. I don’t like that.
If there was a recall process then maybe

If it’s removable you can much more easily recycle it though. Sustainably that is much much better than average phones.
However, while more sustainable than current it is not the most sustainable if you charge it like that
