Yeah the overwhelming majority is attributable to major oil companies, but you’re just being lazy and fatalistic. But sure, just sit there and wait for a paradigm shift to come save you from yourself I guess. Literally the first two search results I found:

butwhyishischinabook@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Ads when you’re pumping gasEnglish115·1 month agoYou can just say you’re from NJ lol, it’s not like any other state has an employment scam where you’re legally required to hire people to perform the simple, relatively safe act of pumping gas. At least not since WA finally trusted people to pump their own gas a few years back.
Edit: Sorry, OR not WA
butwhyishischinabook@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What did Musk and Trump fall out over?34·1 month agoA lot of people still buy into trickle down economics despite consistently not working for the several decades we have tried it and reflexively support tax cuts for the wealthy. A lot of those same people also think that kicking people off of what they consider to be “welfare” will somehow magically result in those people quickly becoming employed, thinking that the reason they aren’t employed is because they aren’t facing serious enough consequences for unemployment.

butwhyishischinabook@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Russia Not on US Tariff List Despite Broad Global Reach | Sweden HeraldEnglish205·4 months agoGuys I think there’s some evidence that this is, shall we say, Russia friendly (such as the astronomical tariff rate on Moldova of all places), but Russia isn’t included because it’s a “Column 2” country alongside Belarus, Cuba, and North Korea, and therefore all subject to the stiff tariffs we already impose on the worst of the worst. Please let’s not share things like this which just make us look gullable to the morons on the right supporting this buffoon. It’s not a good look.

butwhyishischinabook@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*1·4 months agoAs if the deterrent effect is from the possibility of suicide by cop instead of, idk, a critical mass within a community of armed people. It’s not like around 2019/20 we saw, firsthand, that when violence against cops increased their willingness to make frivolous stops decreased. But please, continue strawmanning this as some weird scenario where people are saying that suicide by cop will stop oppression.

Listen I would love to join Canada, but Dunkin over Tim Horton’s and I will die on this hill.
Oh yeah let me just tap into my trust fund to survive the presumably year or more it would take “until fascism stops.” That’s the problem with you people, in reality no action taken is ever good enough so in effect you’re just another fatalistic asswipe.
