100+ euros? Lets say its 200€ each. And lets say Jeffy B has 2000 guests. So he has to pay 400.000€ in taxes. You know how long he has to do nothing to earn 400k? 100 Seconds. That’s not even 2 minutes where he earns as much as we pay for a home.

Yet they are fine with using Windows 11, which looks completely different to Windows 7 or XP. They complained in the beginning just as much but then they were fine with it. People get used to change, they just hate it in the beginning.
There used to be skins for KDE that made it look and feel 1:1 like Windows XP, I don’t know if these things still exist. If yes, there you have it: Just make the system behave like Windows and they won’t notice a difference. They only have to use Office, Mail and print files anyways. Most other tools they use are browser-based and will feel the same way
First sentence I already thought this sounds 100% like an LLM
Yes, you can’t use Copilot to generate files in your code structure way if you start from scratch. I usually start by coding a skaffold and then use Copilot to complete the rest, which works quite good most of the time. Another possibility is to create comment templates that will give instructions to Copilot. So every new Go file starts with coding structure comments and Copilot will respect that. Junior Devs might also respect that, but I am not so sure about them
I use ChatGPT for Go programming all the time and it rarely has problems, I think Go is more niche than Kotlin
You can continue to used supervised, the difference is that it’s no longer officially supported. TBH, almost all supervised installations weren’t officially supported anymore, so nothing big changes
I do own a Fairphone 5 as my new company phone, I used an iPhone 13 mini before. Sadly I have to say that I don’t agree with the “they are great”, while a Fairphone 5 is a totally capable and usable phone it lacks a lot of the lifestyle appeal that a modern smartphone brings. The Fairphone is quite laggy, the camera is not very good and since Google focusses a lot on the pixel line the stock android experience on the Fairphone lacks a lot of comfort features. I would still recommend it for everyone willing to look beyond these downsides and just uses their phone for communication. Sadly that’s not the majority of people
You can still share the STL though :)
And for the OpenSCAD files I saw so far, the most important variables are usually well documented with comments at the top of the file, which makes it easier for most people how to adapt the files to their needs without knowledge of coding.
I think the biggest benefit is sharing.
While you can do parametric design in Fusion, if you share it you can only share it with people using Fusion. Same with other CAD software, you are limiting the userbase.
OpenSCAD on the other hand is a slim FOS tool that anyone can download, it’s not limited.
It’s extremely useful for functional things. Adapters and stuff. You can change some variables and get a model that fits your personal needs
Any good alternatives for ProtonVPN when visiting China? ProtonShield looks pretty promising and with 10 devices for 9,99€ a month my whole family (8 people) would get it for our trip
I really had to fight for versioning. Everyone was just patch version here. Breaking changes in the API, new features, completely overhauled design? Well, it’s 0.6.24 instead of 0.6.23 now.
But gladly we’re moving away from version numbers alltogether. Starting next year it will be 2025.1.0 with monthly releases
Seriously, I tried using ChatGPT for my work sooo often and it never gave me results I could work with. I was promised a tool that replaces me, yet it does only suggest me things that are not working correctly.
I just got a new Hyundai and I think they already have the perfect amount of touch vs buttons. Everything you need to access has buttons, the things which would be too annoying to do during the drive are touch
Blender had a reeeeaaally long way though, I remember a time where Blender was quite big already but Maya just was miles ahead in terms of usability. Nowadays they are not only even, Blender is probably used more often since it’s not only free but more people know how to use it than Maya
No, just look at it, so many buttons. Physical levers for A/C temperature control. Physical buttons for the seating heater and for the seating fan. Physical butons for the window heaters in the winter. Physical buttons to switch between Radio, Map, Bluetooth. Physical buttons to switch radio stations. Physical volume knobs.
Basically all your needs while driving have a physical button, the stuff where you REALLY need a touchscreen are those that you should never do while driving anyways.
I would wish that the driving selector wheel could act as a knob like BMWs and Mercedes have, this would be the best of the best. But it still is pretty great compared to the selection in other modern cars.
I was pleasantly surprised when I sat in a modern Hyundai for the first time (Kona Electric SX2) and there were soooo many buttons. Yes, some things are still touch-controlled, but compared to what I was used to in a Volkswagen it was such a blessing
“Just double click the keepass.kdbx” is not what it is. You need to go to your explorer, find the file in the folder structure and double click it. You then need to search for the website you are on and copy the password, then you need to go back to the website within 12 seconds and paste the password. That’s inconvenient for everyone, but for a tech-illiterate grandma it’s impossible.
Compare that to Bitwarden: You go to the website, click on the bitwarden icon and then click on the login details. Or even better, you can enable auto-complete with a single click and it automatically fills the login details when on the website, without clicking anything. That’s far more convenient and easier.
Just as a FYI: My grandma has a sticky note on her laptop that shows exactly which buttons to press to get to her emails, with things like “Click this twice within 2 second, be fast!!” for a double click. It doesn’t say “lef mouse button”, she draw her touchpad and an arrow. She is not able to find her mails when the website changes the layout.
Yeah duh, you get the fixed file so you don’t need the original anymore obviously
