@Canconda i don’t think that it’s currently about the money. this is another fight against liberal ideas. In the last months i have seen bigger companies giving into a certain speech … or do we want to talk about all those companies even outside of the us who don’t talk about DEI anymore ?
@Canconda @ToxicHolyGrenade ;) i think you can google yourself for the special scenes in Dragon Age: Origins , The Witcher , GTA 5 or Leisure Suit Larry … that are the 3 games out of might head wich had alot of publicity because of this topic. With the same argumentation those groups might try to remove or change those games too …
@dataprolet @AbnormalHumanBeing The huge difference is the reaction time of interactive elements (aka the close to realttime behavior). This is all mostly because of the BORE Scheduler … installing a cachy os bore kernel on a default arch feels nearly the same.
So Wayland + Bore Scheduler it’s really feeling crazy good. I would not even want to move back to X11 cause damm it feels “slugish” compared.
@DarkSideOfTheMoon @1984 and all this additional JavaScript and Elements and makes the side’s just horrible slow. Compare this with CSS+HTML only sides omg how good they can feel … I also prefer nowadays text mode browsers again, cause a good readable font + focus on what is important … the content itself. I really get pissed if websites with public content can’t be run anymore without javascript (wtf is up with you guys ?) …

@CoyoteFacts @bargu the biggest issue … some distributions (cachyos for example) have such a new kernel which doesn’t support fsync ( winesync ) and you want to use the newest kernel for modern amd gpu’s ( eg.: 9070 xt) so downgrade to 6.11 ( last kernel with winesync ) is not a good choice.

If you define NVidia Consumers as common people wanting a gamer gpu than you can keep believing that they try to do all those things to make you the cheapest and best offer and keep buying them.
I am not going to stop you! Since you don’t know me and you don’t know my experience and past with nvidia and seem not want to accept my standpoint -> i am not going to force it on you. @FreedomAdvocate there is a reason why WINE = Wine is not (a) Emulator is used. So don’t call a api reimplementation a emulation specially since other api reimplementation have shown to be better than the original implementation from the hardware provider ( example dxvk on amd > the original amd dx implementation ) . But this gets us far from the original topics , my point was if nvidia wanted to have real competition they would have included all those new fance features into official api’s like for example DX or Vulkan or any other.
They didn’t … and while not directly against the consumer it is against the consumer end.
So i have brought up another point why i call nvidia anti consumer … neither you like it or not.

@FreedomAdvocate you remember the time when AMD was called out for even the smallest of difference from a default render ? Now since nvidia basically use some kind of statistic guessing method -> Noone is allowed to call them out ?
I call them out cause basically they removed the possibility for any consumer to compare other graphics card with themself. Or did i miss nvidia making dlss / frametime generation and all the features available on other gpu brands ?
Do you know AI Models behind all this and how they would perform on other hardware ? Do we want to talk about how they try to force media to have access to tests ? Yes imho there is alot anti consumer here …
@RazgrizOne @FreedomAdvocate the reason why i decided for AMD after being nearly all my life team green ( aka >20 years ) , i feel like AI Frame Generation and Upscalling are anti consumer cause the hide the real performance behind none reproducable image generation. And if you look correctly … this is how nvidia has a performance lead over AMD.

As more people participate / as more instances are provide as better for all and as cheaper. If you really want to step away from services like youtube and want to have it sustainable (aka not depending on business) than it’s your best choice. If you just want someone else to have the saying and replace one company with another good luck.
@Canconda who knows how many people get moved by this topic. Let’s say noone believed in >1.4m people signing a petition for game preservation either … noone would have believed that europeans say that US Tech Companies should be regulated even if it means worse tarrifs … if you already give up before trying to change something you lost already. From my point of view this creates something which can be used in a really bad way for content moderation ( some would call it censorship ).
