I prefer NameCheap, but almost anyone is better than GoDaddy.

71·29 days agobut honestly, after discovering its creator is a real mental case, unless the project gets forked out of his control, I wouldn’t trust it.
I know it’s different (Lemmy isn’t supposed to protect your privacy) but are you familiar with Lenny’s lead developer? Interesting fellow, to say the least.

1·1 month agoDid you post the wrong link? Yours is about “Maximum Path Length Limitation” and the number 128 doesn’t appear anywhere on that page. The max path length is 256 characters.
Where did you read that “you can now have 128 files in your filesystem?”

2·1 month agoI have seen people from .ml defending N. Korea while saying S. Korea are the bad guys. They think the state of affairs in N. Korea is just western propaganda and it’s actually a communist utopia there. Some seem really unhinged with their theories.

2·1 month agoI know what you’re getting at, but saying “there is no rule of law anymore” is a bit hyperbolic. The cops, at least in my city, are still arresting people. You make it seem like we can just do whatever we want now. This isn’t The Purge.

11·1 month agoWhat we need is a mandated and enforced vacancy tax nationwide. Make it high enough to fix the housing crisis.
*Edited to add: according to the Wikipedia article I linked, Canada and the USA have cities that have implemented vacancy taxes. We need to do like France and Ireland and make it nationwide.

41·1 month agoI know it’s not going to happen under this regime but it seems like the solution is to offer tax breaks, subsidies, or whatever we think might give the developers some incentive to build lower income housing.

2·1 month agoI don’t disagree with you about AGI but the timeframe is the big question. Will it come in a decade or a century? Impossible to know.
I have no doubts that AGI will eventually arrive unless we blow ourselves up
I was just about to say the same thing! I’m guessing it will take a bit longer than a decade and I’m not too optimistic about our chances of surviving that long. Well, at least surviving with all of our technology intact.
