It’s not clear at all what they are offering from the article, it’s half assed reporting. It seems they are selling increased security not a “fix”, there is no fix for this otherwise it would have been done already industry wide.
saying it’s Hyundai making you pay for their own flaw is active FUD spreading at best, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s malicious paid for hit piece by US auto industry and it seems like based on the comments here it worked.
The actual article could be: Hyundai offers in-house increased security for their Vehicles with only a 50 dollar co-pay from the customer.
(These added security devices cost hundreds from third party vendors)
This is some misleading reporting though, that same security flaw exists on all keyless vehicles, it’s not Hyundai specific. literally part of the article.

I also watch a lot of used car content, Squeaking/rattling was the norm on the Skoda Kodiaq, it’s the norm on used Superbs.
Vw doesnt make better EVs than hyundai lol, their range is worse, their charge curve is worse, their software is worse, what they have is better brand still, people are sleeping on Hyundai/Kia even though they offer better equipped cars for cheaper and with better reliability and warranty.

For ice cars If you are outside warranty you can just have your ECU remapped and gain much more hp.
I am guessing these remaps will eventually be available for electric motors too
Well hyundai has a predefined trim system, they cut cost of manufacturing by only having predefined trim levels that you can’t customize.
They might still do this cutting of horsepower but they do it because of batteries.
e.g. the 39kwh and the 64 kwh Kona has the same motor but on the 39kwh it’s limited as the battery pack can’t deliver enough juice.
