Intentionally, I think.
I used to run links.dartboard.social, but decided it was too much work for a single user instance.
I microblog at @knova@lostcreek.social.
Intentionally, I think.
She has been a good evangelist for the fediverse, IMO, based on my reading of her posts on Mastodon the last couple months.
BlueSky is another corporate microblog platform, which could end up going the way of Twitter. I’m not saying it will be bought by a fascist billionaire, but they will be beholden to advertisers at some point in the near future.
I would highly recommend finding a Mastodon, Akkoma, or GoToSocial instance that aligns with your values and use that instead. If you are concerned about the network effects of not being on the ‘biggest’ platform where all the celebs are, there is a Bluesky->Mastodon bridge available.
So this is just a shortcut to Google or DuckDuckGo with a prebuilt query?
Wouldn’t the state have to present its case for each charge? Like wouldn’t presenting evidence and testimony to show its murder 1 undermine a murder 2 charge?
Love this. I don’t agree with the sentiment that Trek is being overdone - I’d rather have a slate of options and sit through the “bad” than have to wait years to get anything close to good.
Like, I enjoyed parts of Picard, but on the whole, it didn’t work out (maybe given the serial nature of each season, or cramming pretty ambitious ideas into 10 episodes each season). But I’ll take that any day over having to wait a week at a time for a “filler” episode.
Still hoping for a Klingon focused show… would love anything where a federation vessel isn’t the primary setting!
This dude is literally from my town. What a king
You sure sound gleeful that a bunch of people’s lives are about to be ruined.
The Dems could have done much more to prevent this. Letting a Muslim American elected democrat speak at the DNC would have been the smallest bone thrown.
Stop voter blaming.
lets see if ol’ Donny can wriggle his way out of this one!
Biden should expand the god damned court
I don’t think blaming voters is a good idea. There were signals that people would be more likely to vote for Harris if she, for example, agreed to stop sending arms to Israel (more than the voters she’d lose by doing that). The campaign ignored that… if they tell you what they want and you ignore it that’s kinda on you. Trying to rehab the Republican party (“Country over Party”) instead of going out there and hammering home her policy, how she would make things better for voters… there were lots of mistakes made.
Don’t want to pile on but the lack of a web client in favor of a Windows Store client really kills this for me. I mean, I’m not even on windows so it’s a deal breaker anyway. Would love to get this talking to Lutris somehow.
Also going to pile on a bit about your use of Discord, it is walling off information in a proprietary communication channel. Support tickets should be handled on the web so others can easily tack on if they are experiencing the same issues etc.
He said something, as he was making a birthday wish on stage, to the effect of “I hope the next shooter doesn’t miss”. For context it was like 2 days after the first Trump attempted shooting
Is “keeps asking for the password” the definition of “unusable on Linux”?
I have zero issue using this on Linux fwiw; yes, I am asked for password again on BW when I reboot/start my system. That is not inconvenient to me.
I took “breaking up Google” to mean the Alphabet suite of companies; I had presumed “Google” was just shorthand for “Alphabet”. But I might be wrong
I know very little about the operating structure of Google, but I wonder how this would work functionally. Doesn’t most of their revenue come from ads? So like you couldn’t have google search’s ad business help to prop up the lines of business that don’t make money (Youtube, chrome development)
I’m not anti-breakup but I just wonder if this would imperil some of their lines of business. Like would Youtube shove even more ads down your throat post-breakup?
Does that invalidate his point regarding enshittification?
I think it might matter if Cory came out and said, I am starting an org with the resources to fix it. But I don’t see how this tidbit is relevant for a guy who coined the term about what’s happening here and has been beating the drum about the problem.
Sure, but there are other ActivityPub protocol softwares that have quote replies and moderation, that aren’t Mastodon. I think the challenge is getting the average user to seek out an instance running one of those softwares and not just mastodon dot social.
he hasnt been involved for quite some time IIRC
Yes, but it’s not relevant to the point I was making
