The format it’s most general case is simple. Little monologue on current events and interviews with currently relevant public figures.
theherk@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Republicans move to block Democratic effort to force release of Epstein files1·1 day agoIt may be all those things, but it doesn’t change that it is whataboutism. I’m not here defending anybody. They should have built a case and prosecuted it when they had the chance. In fact, even though typically straight up releasing files like this while there is pending prosecution is a huge mistake, I still think they should have been released.
But only one group campaigned on this to this extent, then did a complete about-face to cover it up.
And I’m sorry for using harsh language; I thought that was allowed around here.
theherk@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Republicans move to block Democratic effort to force release of Epstein files31·2 days agoWhat the fuck are you talking about? That is precisely what happened here. Most of these republican goons got their base frothing at the mouths over these documents, holding up binders, going on talk shows and news shows, literally claiming they’d release these documents. And now they aren’t.

Each is good at what they do, but those are vastly different things, with some overlap. If you want to share a kernel but use fewer resources than a VM, containers can do that. If you want to go further and completely isolate, you can use microvm’s like firecracker.
I don’t follow what is wrong with that. Maybe you mean it’s use where people use it specifically as a package manager. I agree with that, but even then it has its handy place.

Non-Muricans, what's the thought on accepting US refugees?1·12 days agoI went to Norway. Big recommend. That said, I refuse to call myself an expat or use the term expatriate. I am an immigrant. I think it is weird that white westerners get a special word and everybody else are filthy immigrants.
Some wisdom my dad shared with me decades ago: when you’ve lost everything and must rebuild, the rebuild is ALWAYS better. As a programmer for a very long time who has done what you did, I have found this to be true. So there is your silver lining.

That does stuff like automatically add calendar events for flights and such.
Now you must also allow the email to be read by their AI services too. I can’t recall precisely how it was worded, but it was an easy decision to keep the “smart” features off.
I mean, I really just use Gmail as the email address I give to sign up for sites and such, but would be good just not to have it one day.
