There are some ‘legit’ apps that do this, for the purpose of targeting you with ads. Hard to believe, but some people want to be specifically catered to with ads. There are also a lot of poor people who sign up to these things to make a few extra dollars and get free samples from review sites, which is kind of in the same category of website/app. For example I knew someone who got paid to review Chromebooks or Netbooks or something from a Chinese manufacturer. There are survey sites and apps too, and other data collection apps which pay users small amounts of money for small amounts of data.

However what your cousin was doing sounds even more sketchy than that. It sounds like the sort of thing that will somehow turn out to be crime.

How about we just stop doing sports? I remember the transgender sports thing, before that there was drug use in sports, to the point where smoking weed (not an athletic performance inhancer by any measure) could get athletes banned. How about we just ban sports. That seems to be what these conversations are leading towards anyway. It’s not just guns, because sometimes men who get emotional about sports will beat their families to death or something.

Or, maybe instead of banning sports, we still do sports, but everybody has to be naked like in ancient times, or maybe not naked but wearing a giant sign that says “I’m a douchebag” and when someone signs up for a sportsbetting site a paid intern just comes to their house and kicks them in the nuts

It’s not because he’s transphobic or homophobic now or whatever, I’m against those things, but a skilled comedian can make me involuntarily laugh at those kinds of jokes. I actually do work in a field which benefits others.

I was able to work full time because so many people in my industry quit or died during covid. I probably wouldn’t have a steady paycheck if it weren’t for the deaths of thousands of people. I just couldn’t get my foot in the door. This goes for all industires. The job market has been terrible and way too competitive for my entire adult life. For me to own a home, thousands more would need to also die. Please do not retaliate against me for informing you of this. It’s not my fault, my doing, or my preference.

There aren’t enough housing units to accomodate the population, and for this to change, some people are going to have to either reliquish their property or build more properties. I didn’t set it up this way and me pointing it out doesn’t mean I’m evil or that I want it to be like this.

I’m saying that for women, choosing between Liberal and far Right is basically like choosing between a guy who openly hates you and a guy who is sort of shitty and sarcastic to you and might secretly hate you.

There is no functional difference to women between the Left (or center-right I guess) and the Right in a lot of cases.

When Leftists talk about women “going against their interests,” they fail to see that there is no viable option which protects women’s interests, or at least, there is no option which actually protects all of their interests and makes their interests a priority.

Both sides claim to protect women’s interests when politically convenient to say so, and it does take some investigation to figure out what they mean when they make such a claim.
