Yea, but I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what they were trying to make. Good action fighting scenes held loosely together by low effort excuses disguised as plot. And based on how much money the movies made, it’s hard to blame them for their decisions.

Oh, the movies have a TON of plot holes in them. But if you enjoy reading, the original trilogy is amazing. Half the reason those plot holes exist is they removed Carlos. He’s the bad guy and the entire reason everything is happening.

No, but I have a Honeywell T10. It connects via wifi and HA via HomeKit. I also added it to a firewall list blocking it from accessing the internet.

I have the official one up and running, voice and video chat work out of the box.

And potentially make them better too. Maybe a generic wireless driver that works on almost all phones (even if slow), or it’s not uncommon for the industry to gatekeep features to newer models. OSS would likely get those features running on old hardware anyway.

That’s not even mentioning the spyware and AI garbage baked into everything. Or nerfing cpu/battery performance on devices for planned obsolescence.

My kids use it almost daily. Really only breaks for special events. Otherwise an update fixes all other issues.

Looks like most of their services are also foss. Says their cloud service is powered by nextcloud, and pad is powered by Etherpad, upload by Lufi, etc. So, OP could probably just self-host most of these really easily. Hardest one would probably be email. That’s a whole 'nother beast for most. Especially since most residential IPs are blacklisted. You almoat always need to cloud-host that.

My cloud-hosting knowledge is a bit dated, bit I bet there are webhosting places that do the email bit for you, you juat pay the monthly fee to use their auto-gen instance of mailcow or whatever.

Good people don’t want the power. They want a nice easy peaceful life surrounded by loved ones. The assholes strive for power and authority. A few good people try to make a difference.

Even if you tried to make a legislature out of regular citizens forced to do the work like jury duty, it would get twisted and regulated like current jury duty.

The communism ideals are great. Problem is, they historically fail when put into practice. Funny thing, it’s because of power hungry assholes. That same reason is why democracies fail, why republics fail, why monarchies fail, why theocracies fail and so on.

If only there were a pattern here that we could learn from. One person with too much power and eventually, you’ll get an asshole so mad with power they bring the whole system down and we have to start over.

The more parties, check, balances, laws, and red tape, and the like help stave it off for longer, but nothing lasts forever. There is no perfect system that can’t be undone by assholes.

Fight it as long as I can with my current fairly new phone. I assume that update by google would require an OS update, not a google play update. I might just not update my OS until I get a new phone.

If I’m lucky I won’t need to update for a few years and an awesome linux phone will be available. If not then some de-googled android phone.

Worked with a lot of people from India. I’m guessing it’s from one of the many Hindu sub-religions (is that the proper term?). They worship a lot of different gods in different ways. Though some were Muslim and did call to prayer in the afternoons. Noticed some would slide the shoe and sock off and wipe down the bottoms of their feet after washing their hands. Others didn’t go quite that far and would more touch the bottoms of their socked heels with a damp hand. I presume a more symbolic gesture than anything. Which is why I also assume it’s religious and not for hygiene.

It was only a few from hundreds that I saw this behavior from.

Wasn’t super crazy as the washing of hands and feet is also symbolic in Christianity as well.

Only if you happen to have one of the handful of supported devices. I, unfortunately have a handful of old phones, none of them are ever on the list of supported devices when it comes to these linuxphone/androidrom sites. I routinely check them all.

Except one that’s got a mostly working community build for postmarketos, but the install docs run me around in circles. At one point I had 20 tabs open of linked docs and still couldn’t figure out what I was supposed to do.

UBPorts did nicely tell me that my plugged in phone wasn’t supported, and while I could choose from the manual dropdown list, I really, REALLY shouldn’t.

We need more drivers for devices, and easy installers. Or at least archwiki level of documentation.

Those that don’t wash their hands touch the door handle leaving the restroom. They also likely touch the main door handle leaving the store. If you wash your hands, aren’t you undoing it immediately?

I thought about this a lot at my last office I worked at. We had a wide variety of washers, non-washers, religious who also washed their feet (over and under socks), and people who washed and used the paper towel to open the bathroom door but subsequently opened the next door bare handed, and the germophobe who never touched any surface barehanded.

There’s no good answer. Though, metal is a pretty bad surface for germs to live on if that helps. My recommendation is to just wash your hands and then try not to think about the rest.

Sounds like corporate logic to me. “Successful games have lots of positive community engagement!” Therefore… if we push ‘community engagement’ our game will be successful! Let’s track this metric to see how well this game is doing compared to our 497 other games and whether or not to invest in bug fixes and DLCs.

I’d love to see linux become as easy to install on any phone hardware as it is with PCs now.

I’ve had issues like this before too. Mine was with the api password. You have to enable api access in settings->authentication->allow api access

then reset the api password (sometimes takes a few saves to stick for some reason).
